We’re currently looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team.

This role will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of AWS cloud infrastructure solutions within the framework of Nissan standards, policies, and procedures and will also be a Data Architecture focal. The successful candidate will be able to work both methodically and flexibly with internal US customers and external vendors to achieve sustainable results that leverage industry best practices and effectively support client requirements. Optimal candidates will possess a continuous improvement mindset and will have applied it successfully with demonstrable results.

Job functions Include but are not limited to:

  • Establishes relationships with business leaders, IT leaders, and technology subject matter experts with good verbal and written communication skills appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Leads analysis of application portfolios, identifies dependencies and common infrastructure platform components, and assesses platform migration and/or enhancement feasibility.
  • Proactively participates in establishing and improving standards and best practices across technologies, design disciplines, and platforms.
  • Provides hands-on technical and process coaching to accelerate relevant platform and delivery learning across the organization and/or business area.
  • Promotes and builds culture amongst engineering, architectural, and platform teams that fosters an ownership mentality.
  • Partners with customers, colleagues, and vendors to design and deliver best practice cloud and data solution architectures that satisfy both business and information systems requirements.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced technical certifications/diploma and/or degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience, including both AWS cloud architecture as well as data and reporting architecture.
  • Minimum 3 years of AWS architectural design and deployment, utilizing cloud services, solutions, and provisioning/automating AWS infrastructure, services, and tools.
  • Experience using SDLC frameworks and familiarity with Agile/Scrum frameworks; experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment preferred.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies and workload transition methodologies.
  • Knowledge of AWS Well Architected Framework and cloud migration industry standards and best practices.
  • Deep hands-on experience in leading the design, development, and deployment of business software or business data and reporting architectures at scale.
  • Good understanding and experience with production support concepts, importance of application observability / monitoring, and stable, supportable design concepts.
  • Experience designing and deploying available, cost efficient, fault tolerant, and scalable distributed systems.
  • Experience managing the challenges of migrating systems and workloads to the cloud.
  • Prior programming background in at least ONE language: C++, Java, Python, Ruby, etc.
  • Experience with Swagger, YAML, JSON, etc. preferred.
  • Deep understanding of data architecture and data modeling concepts.
  • Experience in strategic data planning and data standards development, including data governance & stewardship frameworks and solutions.
  • Exposure to Master Data Management (MDM) & metadata management experience preferred.
  • Experience in data mart, data warehouse, or data lake design and architecture.
  • Experience in leveraging enterprise data warehouse modeling constructs, methodologies, and practices to ensure flexible, scalable, maintainable, and high-performing databases.
  • Good working knowledge of Personal Identifiable Information (PII) data concepts that may be subject to consumer rights under laws like CCPA, GDPR, and similar consumer privacy laws.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with PII data policies, state and federal laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Ability to perform requirements analysis for IT systems, provide input to business case development, and validate data requirements for IT systems.
  • Proficiency with data modeling tools; Erwin preferred.
  • Strong exposure in Relational/OLTP, Data Mart/OLAP, Data Warehouse/DW & NoSQL environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL and query tools.
  • Proficiency with some of the following technologies: SQL, PL/SQL; Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake; Mainframe, ADABAS, IMS, DB2, Data Federation; Big Data, Hadoop, Hive; AWS Aurora, DynamoDB, Glue, Athena, CI/CD, DevOps; ERwin, Snowpipe, Tableau, Business Objects, Informatica, Axon, Enterprise Data Catalog, SQL Developer, JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow.
  • Good working knowledge of ETL, ELT, source-to-target mapping; Informatica platform experience is preferred.
  • Experience with analytics & data visualization tools is a plus (Tableau is preferred), data analysis, data profiling.
  • Strong technical writing skills for documenting environments and procedures.
