Raytheon provides end-to-end space solutions – from ground control systems to on-orbit sensors – to keep our customers informed and ahead of the threat. Each day, ground stations receive vast amounts of data from satellites in orbit. Using complex algorithms, they process all of the bits and bytes received and turn them into useable information for the end users who consume this data. As the volume of data grows, ground stations need to evolve and adapt.
Position Overview:
Our team is seeking a Senior Software Performance Engineer in Aurora, CO. You will be working with a team of skilled software engineers who are designing, developing, and maintaining next-generation satellite mission software. Our challenging domain offers the opportunity to apply new technologies to build high availability, large-scale software systems.
Basic Qualifications
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- 5+ years scripting experience for collecting performance metrics in Linux
- 5+ years experience using gathered data to analyze system’s performance
- 5+ years experience supporting system integration and test events of software-based systems
- Experience in the verification/validation of system requirements
- Experience with Agile and DevOps
- Strong understanding of Jira and Confluence
- Demonstrated understanding of the testing architecture/framework
- Demonstrated understanding of integration and test procedures and plans
- Ability to review schedules and develop integrated plans
Desired Qualifications:
- Understanding of configuration management
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
- Experience working in cross discipline teams

The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 161,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
