Position Overview:
Raytheon provides end-to-end space solutions – from ground control systems to on-orbit sensors – to keep our customers informed and ahead of the threat. Each day, ground stations receive vast amounts of data from satellites in orbit. Using complex algorithms, they process all of the bits and bytes received and turn them into useable information for the end users who consume this data. As the volume of data grows, ground stations need to evolve and adapt.
Raytheon is seeking a Principal Software Engineer in Aurora, CO. Relocation assistance available provided candidate meets eligibility requirements. The candidate select will join a team of skilled software engineers developing Satellite Ground Station Software.
Required Qualifications:
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree and minimum 8 years' relevant or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Ability to troubleshoot and fix complex software problems.
- Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Experience with API concepts and technologies such as REST, JSON, JMS, XML, and SOAP.
- Experience with developing, deploying, and troubleshooting Oracle WebLogic 12.
- Experience developing in Java
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with some area of satellite ground system software
- Experience with Atlassian Tools
- Experience with Agile Development
Location Information:
This position is onsite at our campus in spectacular Aurora, CO. The campus is surrounded by 91 miles of walking and hiking trails, including the nearby High Line Canal Trail. The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
