WHAT TO EXPECT 

 

This is an excellent opportunity for Power Electronics Engineer to work with the JLR HV Charging Power Electronics team, which is in charge of delivering Plug-In and Full Electric cars including hardware and control techniques for modules like On-Board Chargers and DCDC converters. 

 

As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will be a member of the new team that is designing the next generation DCDCs and On-Board Chargers up to 1200V range. You will be engaged in the entire process, from specification to design, prototype, testing, and production.  

This is an opportunity to design and create interesting and creative products, as well as define the future of next-generation power electronics for use in Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. 

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with circuit design and layout evaluations for DCDC and OBC hardware. 

  • Create methods for PCB simulation to aid with in-house development projects. 

  • Design sign-off based on findings of validation, simulations, and DFMEA analysis. 

  • Responsible for planning and executing any Hardware design reviews and testing in alignment to key project milestone points, especially with external project relevant suppliers. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED  

 

  • Degree in electrical/electronic engineering or relevant hands-on experience within similar role, 

  • Previous experience in designing and delivering electronics hardware design and component testing in an automotive / aerospace industry. 

  • Knowledge of DC/DC and AC/DC topologies 

  • knowledge of MATLAB / Simulink  

  • Customer-first attitude with a passion for continuous improvement
