Work Arrangement

Onsite - This position requires the employee to be onsite on a full-time basis. The work location is Spring Hill, Tennessee.

The Role

In execution, we’re directly responsible for the equipment from the time it is qualified at the OEM through startup plus 1 year.  This includes equipment qualification at the OEM, shipping, install, power-on, debug, issue resolution, documentation and deliverables, and meeting launch metrics.

The selected candidate will be responsible for Process Engineering of the BEV3 Battery Test Equipment @ [SPRING HILL RESS ASSEMBLY].  This includes coordinating of installation, debug, runoff, and PPAP of equipment to manufacture Lithium Ion Batteries.  Work will be performed in a plant environment where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.

What You Will Do

  • Process Engineering of the BEV3 Battery Test Equipment during the “Execution” Phase of the program.
  • Coaching / Mentoring / Training of newer / less experienced team members
  • Equipment Runoff @ OEM
  • Collaboration with the Operations Team on Program Deliverables
    • PFMEAs Review / Simulation Review / Control Plans / Launch Deliverables
  • Plant Equipment Install / Debug / Launch / Continuous Improvement
  • Actively participate in the SCRUM / Agile Process to accomplish daily tasks and meet the project deliverables.
  • Establishes equipment installation board and review weekly/daily with OEM and contractors
  • Develop and lead the PPAP review meetings in area of responsibility utilizing the PPAP checklist, capturing exceptions. 
  • Lead the lessons learned gathering activity and feedback the information to the central process team for BOE/BOP updates
  • Closure of all ME open issues for Launch Deliverables
  • Engage in Leadership discussion for quality and product design and production control.

    ​Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)

    • 7+ Years Automotive Engineering Experience [Plant and/or Execution]
    • Hands-on knowledge of Test Equipment and Manufacturing Processes
    • Understanding and experience with Data Acquisition Hardware [Bauer or Similar]  [2+ Years Preferred]
    • Statistical Process Control / Tends for Defect Mapping.
    • Test Application and Programming Software Experience [Bauer PCS, Krause UPS32/64, LabVIEW, Other]
    • Experience in Managing OEMs [Program Management / OEM Timing / Open Issues / Financial Forecasts]
    • Experience in Leading a project [Coordinating Resources / Updates to Leadership / Status Reporting / Tracking Timelines]
    • Understanding of Pneumatic, Mechanical, and Control Drawings.
    • Understanding / Application of Part Locating / Mechanics / Machine Design
    • Strong Analytical Practical Problem-Solving Skills [Formal Training / Practical Application]
    • Experience with PFMEAs / Simulation]
    • Ability and willingness to travel to various manufacturing sites across GM.
    • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
