Factory ZERO is our first, all-electric automotive assembly plant and the blueprint of General Motors' electric future! The Role:

As the Launch VAA Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and crafting quality solutions for medium level changes. You will conduct defect analysis resolution and verification for vehicle subsystem quality, while also supporting vehicle engineering in the Implementation of the Quality Requirements. The Launch VAA Manufacturing Quality Engineer is also responsible for developing, testing, and crafting quality solutions for medium level changes. What You'll Do:

  • Identify and eliminate Quality Issues identified at VAA
  • Liaison between VAA, Assembly Plant, engineering, and suppliers, to ensure vehicle quality and reliability
  • Monitor, coach, and develop VAA organization for applicable BIQ and GMS requirements
  • Perform Diamond 4 through 7 Problem Solving for identified issues
  • Participate and drive vehicle Quality improvement through CPIT meetings and process
  • Participate in the Assembly Plant Change Management Process
  • Support Quality Issue yard sweeps and develop inspection method and standards
  • Coordinate Repair, Rework and Containment Activities for Identified Spills
  • Ensure supplier responsible issues are documented in Supplier Practical Problem Solving system, and enforce supplier compliance for issue resolution
  • Request Temporary Work Orders from Engineers as required to support VAA and Assembly Plant
  • Document issues in PRTS and drive resolution though the CPIT Process
  • Act as the voice of manufacturing and the VAA in CPIT process
  • Participate in ISO, BIQ, and other Quality Audits
  • Support the PTR Process, documenting Product concerns and providing Pass/Fail feedback.  Support Controlled Shipping Activity
  • Facilitate all Supplier Visits to VAA facility
  • Communicate Lessons Learned to SMTs and Validation Teams
  • Support Launch activities for all future programs beginning at the first Manufacturing Build

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 5+ years’ experience in Manufacturing working on Quality related processes/issues
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience with launch in a manufacturing
