Future Projects Systems Architect (d/f/m)

A vacancy for a “Future Projects Systems Architect” (d/f/m) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. The successful applicant will join „Chief Engineering Military Aircraft- Future Projects - Platform Systems GE “. The tasks will be performed for a wide variety of projects, covering modifications of existing aircraft (combat, transport), new aircraft concepts (FCAS, Eurodrone) and unmanned air vehicles.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Define and perform Platform Systems Trade-offs to identify requirements impact and select the integrated Air Vehicle Platform Systems concepts and initial architectures.

  • Evaluate the Air Vehicle Systems Architectures against overall aircraft requirements, integration constraints and to aircraft development logic.

  • Analysis, integration and allocation of Overall Platform Systems concepts for re-engineering and implementation of legacy and future military aerial platforms.

  • Evaluation of new technologies and innovative Overall Platform Systems concepts with respect to usability in our concepts and identification of key technologies.

  • Cascade L0 requirements to L1 sub-systems or systems components. Ensure proper integration of subsystem/system components at the system level.

  • Elicit and validate system/product requirements and architectures whilst considering the complete system life-cycle.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering (Aerospace Engineering/ Aircraft Design)

  • Several years of experience in Engineering

  • Several years of experience in System Engineering/ System Architecture

  • Experience in General Systems Architectures and Integration

  • Experience in aircraft conceptual design methods and tools would be a plus

  • Ability to work in international integrated multidisciplinary teams.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
