In order to manage current and future projects, Airbus Helicopters is looking for you to join the team in Donauwörth as soon as possible as our new

 #ET11R Maintenance Architect and SDR Maintainability (d/f/m)

The position is for the Maintenance and Ground Operations Department. You will join this department (approx. 50 people distributed in Marignane and Donauwörth) covering maintenance and ground means and procedure for the whole Airbus Helicopters fleet inclusive new devel

opments. This position consists in ensuring maintenance program and tasks completeness and competitivity without compromise on safety within the helicopter development.

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your location
At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Contribute to the definition of a coherent maintenance program, the ground segment policy (incl. e.g. data loading) and the necessary means (Ground Support Equipment)

  • Define and assign maintenance requirement toward system design responsibles and to validate implementation into the design all along development phase

  • Participate to design reviews and representing the maintenance design lead function

  • Identify the need for design mitigation plans and initiating it’s execution

  • Be responsible for maintenance performance and compliance to requirements coming from Support & Services (MMH/FH, Availability, ground segment, …)

  • Revise and optimize maintenance programs according to design modification and in service experience

  • Ensure reporting to the Chief Engineer, Program Support Officer and Program Management

  • Carrying out maintainability analyzes to check the accessibility and feasibility of maintenance activities and conformity to the maintenance concept (digitally using CATIA, virtual reality or physically through tests on the helicopter)

  • Conducting ergonomics and human factors analyzes to reduce operator and helicopter maintenance errors and risks (digitally using CATIA, virtual reality or physically through tests on the helicopter)

  • Contribution to the definition of maintenance procedures and direct evidence on the helicopter for validation

  • Influence system development and integration to ensure maintenance concept and maintenance requirements are met

  • Coordinate with various support and service areas (e.g. fleet experience, customer service, publication, logistics) to reflect their concerns in the design

  • Occasional business trips to Marignane site or to suppliers and customers

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Completed studies in the field of mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering or similar

  • Experience in development, helicopter maintenance and project management

  • Experience in the development process of a helicopter

  • Basic knowledge of CATIA V5

  • Basic understanding of customer operations, maintenance metrics, helicopter architecture and helicopter systems, agile principles in development, requirements management, helicopter certification

  • Language skills: English - business fluent; German and French - advantageous

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
