WHAT TO EXPECT 

 

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the design, development, testing and introduction of suspension mechatronic systems and components, such as active anti-roll and active suspension systems, for use on JLR vehicle lines. The role requires the individual to work as part of a team to assess, measure, test and develop such systems to quality, cost, attribute and time targets, with focus on the attribute performance and integrity. The role will require significant vehicle and rig usage time, and as such will have limited scope for hybrid working.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Key contact for vehicle development and assessment, including steering, ride, handling and NVH general assessment and problem diagnosis
  • Liaise with component/sub-system engineers as necessary to aid vehicle problem solving, including via vehicle system data analysis
  • Develop new vehicle test and assessment standards in conjunction with Lead Engineers to meet emerging requirements of new systems
  • Work with vehicle and component test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign off and support Engineering test teams to resolve issues.
  • Assist with resolution of issues with component engineering and vehicle attribute teams to develop designs that meet attribute targets
  • Keep all development documentation up to date
  • Ensure all appropriate JLR standards are met through-out testing and development

 

WHAT YOU NEED

 

  • Previous experience of team working to resolve technical and process issues
  • A good working knowledge of vehicle systems in use in JLR products
  • Suspension Systems general principles knowledge
  • Hold a full UK or equivalent driving license
