Buyer Services Assistant

The Buyer Services team within Cox Automotive are responsible for the client experience within our Auction locations and attracting footfall to both physical and virtual sales.

The team work closely with the senior management team at Auction Centres and vendors to ensure maximum buyer attendance to sales, analyse buyer behaviour through data and work according to market trends, track progress of sales programmes and manage the provisional bid process at the majority of Auction Centres.

In addition to this the Buyer Services team are responsible for managing a portfolio of customers across the UK, promote the Cox Automotive product portfolio and upselling to customer.

Scope of Role:

The Buyer Services Assistant role is responsible for assisting the national Buyer Services team in all aspects of Buyer Services, maximizing buyer attendance, ensuring buyer experience and sale performance meets or exceeds customers’ demands whilst working in line with Cox Automotive’s processes at all times.

This role is also required to have an awareness of Cox Automotive products and services to support promoting and answering any questions customers may have.

Objectives for Role:

  • Build and maintain regular contact with active buyers, building long term relationships and support the Buyer Services Managers with any necessary actions.
  • Carry out an agreed levels of campaign/engagement calls using Sales Force and ensure all necessary activity is always accurately recorded on Sales Force.
  • Research and gain feedback on customer satisfaction and monitor changes in buyer's purchasing patterns.
  • Effectively promote stock to buyers to influence their choice of buying location and send sales catalogues to targets and relevant audiences.
  • Discuss and offer advice on products and services that Cox Automotive provide.
  • Support the provisional sale process and as required, act as a point of contact for buyers and sellers to convert provisional bids to agreed target within agreed timescales, for both in-lane auction and Bid Now events.
  • Support the customer complaint process and carry out any necessary actions.
  • Carry out competitor research, as and when required, and provide feedback.
  • Carry out any other relevant tasks/projects, as necessary, to support the Buyer Services function
  • Maintain a sufficient level of knowledge of all Cox Automotive products and services, completing relevant product training as and when required.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Well organised, attentive to detail and able to use your initiative
  • Good analytical skills with ability to interpret data in many forms including Microsoft Excel and Sales Force
  • Demonstrable research skills, telemarketing skills and an ability to discuss services with clients
  • An understanding of effective marketing process and industry awareness.
  • Target driven, self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Highly developed customer service skills
  • Good Telephone manner
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
