WHAT TO EXPECT

This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the BiW Reliability Department.  You will be responsible for the delivery of Reliability growth across BiW operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the facility performs in line with installed design Technical Availability, developing and implementing Reliability growth plans, focusing on a level of continuous improvement to support Maintenance Operations.  In your role you will also manage all other offline BiW technical departments, including smallt tools and jig and tool. The Reliability Manager will be required to liaise with key stakeholders from within the JLR and OEM community to drive current and future state Reliability Operations directly linked to current and future BiW operations.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Departmental Lead in Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) who needs to be in touch with the latest Body Construction facility developments, concepts and equipment design
  • Run the day to day Reliability department across BiW
  • Define and develop an R&M process working to guidelines set out in SAE M-110.2 and JLR company R&M procedures
  • Deliver the R&M strategy that supports the long term Body Construction strategy
  • Support the development and delivery of the Maintenance Operating System for BiW
  • Align R&M requirements to future ME programme milestones to ensure assessments are completed at key stages of every programme
  • Ensure that MTTR and MTBF data is available and analysed to deliver Technical Availability improvements in line with transformational KPI’s
  • Develop condition based monitoring strategies for Body Construction manufacturing systems
  • Assist in the assessment of the equipment suppliers with regards to R&M competence and their proven track record
  • Develop a data-based predictive maintenance strategy
  • To develop systems to model total cost of ownership (LCC), and to implement and enforce with all equipment suppliers

  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Operations
  • Ability to deliver a strategic vision into daily operations
  • Expert knowledge of Reliability and Maintainability principles
  • Demonstrable evidence of deploying a Reliability Centred Maintenance system
  • Lead Technical improvement activities through Reliability Engineers
