WHAT TO EXPECT

This role is responsible for the performance of an operational team in MLA BiW, to deliver all production targets by ensuring volume, quality and associated scorecard metrics such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale and Environment are met.  This role will manage the day to day production operation, as well as interfacing with other stakeholder functions over multi-shift operations.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for managing a production area including the control and organisation of all on track build activities and associated Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People and Environment metrics, ensuring scorecard compliance
  • Manage the performance of the production team to ensure targets are achieved
  • Ensure JLR’s creators code is deployed and measured through team performance
  • Manage all activities to develop the team ensuring every employee has access to the Learning and Development, Motivation and Communication required to deliver the Business Plan objectives
  • Achieve Productivity targets year on year through the application of Lean Master Class tools
  • To consistently deliver Safety standards by ensuring all safety metrics are achieved, risks identified and mitigated and corrective action implemented for any accidents
  • Ensure internal and external quality metrics are achieved and robust action plans are in place for the continuing achievement and maintenance of quality standards
  • Ensure efficiencies are driven to deliver year on year productivity and reduce hours per car
  • Contribute to the development of the operational and strategic plans to improve the current facility and process

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrable Leadership qualities proven in a demanding operating environment
  • Skilled coach
  • Relevant previous experience of Production Management including consistent delivery of productivity targets in Manufacturing
  • Experience in Team Management including shift operations (experience of managing multi-skilled teams in multi-shift operations in Manufacturing )
