WHAT TO EXPECT

This role is responsible for the management of an MLA BiW maintenance operations team.  In your role you will be responsible for delivering world class maintenance operations across Solihull BiW, to include a reliability centred approach to maintenance, as well as focusing on cultural transformation of the team.  You will also provide engineering support to maximise production efficiencies and maintain all associated plant equipment and be responsible for first line response to requests / issues with equipment / processes.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for managing a maintenance team to ensure a safe and efficient production performance is delivered within the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People & the Environment framework
  • Accountable for the area staffing and ensure it is within operational constraints to achieve operational targets
  • Manage all activities to develop the team ensuring every employee has access to the Learning and Development, Motivation and Communication required to deliver the Business Plan objectives
  • Deliver annual training plan to ensure core competence framework deliverables are met
  • Responsible for ensuring Technical Availability objectives are achieved across the facility
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of World Class Maintenance strategies
  • Set up and deliver future state maintenance operations for Solihull BiW
  • Establish a reliability department with a focus on RCM principles
  • Liaise with future ME programme teams on asset selection criteria

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Knowledge and Experience

  • Technical knowledge capability in current role with transferable skills for other Technologies (Maintenance R&M principles)
  • Technical (mechanical and electrical) automotive engineering skills, ideally in a large automated environment
  • Experience of specifying and installing new automation to realise productivity targets
  • Excellent Leadership skills and situational decision making skills, whilst innovating and driving Continuous Improvement activities
  • Demonstrates value for money and commercial acumen
  • Lean Tools & Techniques including logical approach to Problem Solving (Application / Deployment)
  • Ability to follow Manufacturing Operating Systems and processes to drive technical and behavioural performance
