Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Transportation Logistics Manager (Level K) to join and lead our dynamic East & Central Operations Outbound Shipping team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Saint Louis, Missouri, or Charleston, South Carolina on 1st shift.

The Transportation Logistics Manager will lead a team of highly skilled professionals working domestic and international transportation and logistics projects in both the commercial and government sectors. This position will have the ability to influence and impact over $800M in annual Transportation spend. 

The Transportation Logistics Manager will have acute knowledge and expertise in import and export regulations as it relates to logistics and transportation operations as this is an essential component to successful performance. Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee activities across multiple teams and locations and will drive integration processes and initiatives within and across business units and functions to improve logistics and transportation execution.

  • Design routes, methods, process, and procedures that deliver results at the lowest landed cost.

  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals.

  • Acquire resource for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead lean and process improvements.

  • Develop and cultivate relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

  • Collaborate with site specific business leaders and support project initiatives for continuous improvement and production rate initiatives.

  • Engage and drive regulatory export compliance initiatives and foster relationships with Global Trade Controls to improve execution of tangible exports for programs supported.

  • Develop and maintain rapport with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), internal government affiliated business partners, and contracting teams for support of Foreign Military Sales, and other government related freight moves.

  • Partner with 3PL/4PL service providers for improved customer satisfaction.

  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Manage, develop and motivate employees and teams.

  • Develop and execute integrated organizational strategies and plans.

  • Establish performance metrics and monitor critical supply chain service providers with the appropriate detail and frequency to determine trends and financial deterioration well in advance of actual performance impact.

  • Establish and maintain enterprise-wide early-warning systems to highlight risk exposure, minimize financial impacts, and prevent production line interruptions.

  • Identify and employ innovative and cost-effective technologies and management processes to achieve better service and business results.

  • Influence decisions on best mode of transportation to carry freight on behalf of Boeing, joint venture, and subsidiary partners.

  • Drive a service culture mindset within Transportation, Warehousing, & Logistics (TWL) and Boeing Supply Chain to enable business partners and employees to achieve performance excellence at a competitive cost.

  • Manage carriers/providers in the performance of their statement of work; tracks performance metrics, leads business reviews, and establishes corrective actions as needed.

  • Identify and develop supply chain risk mitigation processes, procedures and plans.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience managing or leading people or teams

  • 5+ years of experience working in Supply Chain, Logistics or Material Management Services

  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing process improvement projects

  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time both domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of experience with program/project management and driving lean practices

  • 5+ years of experience in transportation industry and service provider contracts and terms & conditions

  • 10+ years of experience and knowledge of import and export regulatory compliance and initiatives

  • 10+ years of experience in domestic and international supply chain logistics

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Summary Pay Range: $108,800 – 147,200

Saint Louis, Missouri Summary Pay Range: $102,000 - $138,000

Charleston, South Carolina Summary pay range: $102,000 - $138,000
