Sr. Analyst, Data Operations

Position Objective:

The Senior Analyst, Data Operations at Porsche Financial Services, Inc. (PFS) is part of the business unit Digital Transformation & Data Analytics and represents the interface between the data intelligence team and business operations. This role will support the build out of a data operations and reporting functionalities of Porsche Financial Services. The ideal candidate will have extensive, advanced knowledge and experience in data querying, business analysis research, workflow enhancement and technical project management. This position reports to the Manager, Data Intelligence & Advanced Analytics.

 

The Senior Analyst will work with all PFS and PFSC departments and various departments/business entities within Porsche including the following: Porsche AG, Porsche Cars North America (PCNA), Porsche Cars Canada (PCL), Porsche Financial Services Germany (PFSD), Porsche Consulting, Mieschke Hofmann und Partner (MHP), Porsche Digital, and the Exclusive Brands (Bentley, Lamborghini, and Bugatti).

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as a SQL / Reporting subject matter expert assisting with data gathering, data extracts, and report development for PFS business and data intelligence teams.
  • Act as a liaison translating business requirements across technical reporting and analytical developers
  • Establish proof of concept workflows to resolve issues that will scale data driven work and processes for business teams
  • Provide validation support to newly developed processes and workflows. Work with business teams to establish ongoing quality monitoring for data operations
  • Execute and extract existing reports across multiple database instances and periods, enabling the reconciliation of information across reports
  • Update and validate existing data operations pipelines to align with changes in requirements or parameters
  • Recommend and implement improvements for reports, reporting processes and reporting systems
  • Support the scoping, communication and development monitoring of new reports or views based on communicated requirements
  • Collaborate with data integration roles and IT to properly maintain and enhance the local operational reporting systems and database for potential changes or improvements
  • Advise and propose enhancements to the availability, integrity, and usability of the PFS central business data warehouse while considering internal data governance policies

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g. Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Economics) required or may be substituted by 4 additional years of relevant experience

 

Experience (Job and Industry):

  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience
  • Experience within Captive Finance Company finance area / Financial Services Industry is a plus
  • Experience in relational databases (SQL) and incorporating unstructured data into reporting processes and outcomes
  • Experience with MicroStrategy (alternatively Power BI / Tableau)
  • Experience leading projects of various sizes
  • Experience with audit execution and/or audit response is a plus

 

Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency with one or more statistical programming languages such as R or Python
  • Advanced project management and time management skills including the ability to prioritize and contribute to multiple assignments simultaneously, setting clear goals, and managing (internal) customer expectations
  • Ability to translate and present outcomes of reporting solutions to non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated influence and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and to manage the communication flow accordingly
  • German language skills are a plus

Percentage of required travel: Less than 25%

 

Physical requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.  Must be able to move about in the office to access office equipment, etc.  Must be able to communicate and exchange information verbally with management and co-workers. 

 

Work environment

This position operates in an office environment.  This role will use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, scanners, etc.
