Accountability:

  • For the quality of both the products and the paperwork delivered to both internal and external customers.
  • For highlighting any potential issues in a timely manner.
  • For maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety – Ensure the business has and is adhering to all H&S requirements and that the work area is safe.
  • Quality – Ensure that all quality standards are adhered to, and all documentation completed.
  • Delivery – Ensure performance is achieved against deadlines / KPI’s, highlight any potential issues and support changing priorities and report accordingly.
  • Cost –Work in line with department KPI’s, avoid waste and recommend opportunities to maximise improvements.
  • People – Demonstrate company values and advise and guide all employees in QHSE matters.

Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental:  key aspects

  • Maintain knowledge of all applicable UK HSE legislation and industry standards, notifying management of implications, trends and best practice.
  • Support change initiative implementation in relation to QHSE where necessary and embed business values and propositions.
  • Support in the development and delivery of QHSE training programs for employees.
  • Conduct Quality and HSE internal audits and inspections against yearly programme, ensuring compliance to AS9100 and HSE standards (e.g., Fire Risk, evacuation and training programme), ISO Standards and business requirements, with the ability to demonstrate continual improvements.
  • Conduct incident investigations to determine root causes and contribute to the development of preventive measures.
  • Support the Head of Quality in coordinating activities within the Quality Control and Test areas.
  • Ensure clear communication with other departments of any issues, concerns that are raised.
  • Work with task staff to produce risk assessments / COSHH assessments and safe systems of work in line with company procedures and current legislation.
  • Assure the performance of department against KPI’s identifying any potential issues and suggesting mitigating action when needed.
  • Point of contact for HSE issues.
  • Raise and investigate Internal Non-Conformances.
  • Liaise with Suppliers on any highlighted quality issues.
  • Ensure specialist equipment within the area is maintained in good working order.
  • Support a continuous improvement philosophy and encourage team members to raise suggestions and facilitate improvements and problem resolution.
  • Assure Customer delivery dates are achieved to plan, escalating any concerns to enable a resolution.

Ideal candidates would have the following:

  • Data analysis.
  • Problem Solving skills.
  • Able to read Technical Drawings.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate with 2-3 years H&S experience or be willing to work towards this.
  • Legislative Requirements knowledge and experience such as COSHH, REACH,  HAV, Fire Safety, Health & Safety
  • Knowledge of relevant QHSE regulations, standards, and best practices preferred.
  • Lead Auditor qualification / experience with ISO Certification: ISO9001, AS9100, ISO45001 and ISO14001.

Experience:

  • Experienced in Manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced in a process driven production environment.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Experienced working in a team.
