WHAT TO EXPECT
The battery team is one of the fastest growing teams in the JLR business and you will get to be a part of this exciting and developing department. Within this role you will get the opportunity to be a fundamental part of working on rapidly changing technology for our BEV vehicles within our cycle plan.
Within this role you will get the opportunity to be a Senior Pack Design Engineer based in the Battery Systems Advanced Concepts & Research Pillar. As the Senior Pack Design Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to Pack Design solutions to meet component functional targets and have engineers and junior engineers reporting to her/him.
Key Responsibilities
Help create and manage a team within JLR to:
- Help create the Pack Design part of the BEV battery technology roadmaps to support JLRs electrification transition.
- Support consolidation of benchmark material from device to vehicle that maximises our understanding of our competitors and the current / latest technology landscape being deployed.
- Work alongside our Engineering Operations team to ensure we have the right facilities in place to execute the technology roadmap.
- Help develop a technology roadmap that takes us to the next generation of battery technologies such as solid state and cell-to-car / module-to-car concepts.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Essensial:
- Senior experience of the multi-physics nature of cell Pack Design and integration.
- Previous experience within the competitor cell and battery manufacturing industry.
- An ability to communicate a technical concept and strategy vision to the wider vehicle and PT electrification teams in order to drive toward a single optimised roadmap.
- Ability to help build a winning team in the field of cell / battery pack future strategies and research.
