Quality Lead

Marshall Canada requires a Quality Lead in Ottawa, ON to join our team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role will support the Quality components of various programs from design through to and including production and final sale. The Quality Lead will coordinate and manage relationships with downstream suppliers, subcontractors, etc.

Your responsibilities in the role:

  • Establish and maintain quality documents that conform to the standards of our certification.
  • Establish and maintain a Supplier Monitoring program based on a business risk assessment approach.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and develop supplier improvement plans to address identified    weaknesses, providing status reports to both supplier and Marshall Canada management, following up on agreed actions to ensure they have been implemented effectively.
  • Manage RMA process for non-conforming products. Working closely with Engineering, Supply Chain internal and external ensuring prevention of recurrence.
  • Develop and maintain quality documents. Procedures, work instructions, plans, policies, etc.
  • Develop and maintain a supplier Audit schedule based on risk methodology to cover a global supply base.
  • Audit supplier facilities and observing the manufacturing environment to review potential for Supplier Approval.
  • Maintain suppliers' performance KPIs and provide feedback to management on any areas of concern.
  • Provide input into supplier procurement specifications to ensure project and business requirements are flowed down as appropriate to suppliers.
  • Provide support to procurement to define the supplier quality metrics.
  • Serving as a liaison between Marshall management and the suppliers to identify risks within external Quality Plan.
  • Represent Marshall Quality at Gate reviews as required.
  • Any other duties assigned by Quality Manager

Apply if you have most of the following:

  • Lead Auditor trained in ISO9001/AS9100 is desirable, Internal Auditor trained in Quality standards is essential.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems is essential.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel and Visio are essential.
  • Knowledge and experience of Quality assessment and continuous improvement tools is essential.
  • Understanding and experience of preventative techniques such as Sampling, Pareto, FMEA, SPC etc. is essential.
  • Knowledge of coating applications and appropriate process control.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process controls associated with Electro-mechanical products including welding.
  • Six Sigma (Green belt, Black belt, Yellow belt etc.) is desirable.
  • Self-motivated and focused individual with the ability to engage with and lead a variety of suppliers to the journey of compliance.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills with demonstration of high-level stakeholder interaction.
  • Pro-active and solutions driven, with the ability to work to strict deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
  • Flexible approach to solutions and highly adaptable to change.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • This role will be supporting the business development on a global platform therefore ability to travel is essential.

Must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control regulations and security regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian Government Security requirements
