Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Procurement Field Representative (Level 3) to join our Global Field Operations North America team in Mesa, Arizona.

There is a large supplier presence at the CITY site, both at the Delivery Center and Factory. The suppliers work supplier quality issues as well as provide expertise in repairs of their components due to Boeing caused damage. It is the responsibility of Field Representatives to proactively problem-solve and drive overall supplier recovery to ensure delivery and quality compliance.

The primary focus of this role includes supplier engagement to drive improved quality and delivery performance. The selected candidate will ensure suppliers are meeting scheduled deliveries, to all of our business units.

Position Responsibilities

  • Ability to lead a supplier recovery by developing recovery plans, defining the scope and objectives, identifying clear roles and responsibilities, creating contingency plans, escalation paths and evaluating supplier’s progress/performance to plan.

  • Co-facilitates with the supplier the development of a recovery plan identifying needs for training on business, staffing/resources and manufacturing practices (e.g., requirements interpretation and clarification, contractual compliance, scheduling tools, technical skills, self-assessment) to supplier personnel for improvement or enhancement delivery performance.

  • Ability to assist in problem solving and root cause identifications that are driving the underlying causes of supplier’s inability to perform.

  • In conjunction with Supply Chain and Supplier, track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery time, quality, quantity, burn down plans, job on-time start/end, and compliance.

  • Effective written and verbal communication across functions (e.g., procurement agents, suppliers, internal customers, field quality, engineering, manufacturing) to report status and concerns.

  • Communicate frequently and transparently with your suppliers to understand their challenges, issues, and expectations, while establishing clear and consistent communication channels and protocols to exchange information, feedback, and support.

  • Supports work movement team for all/any supplier offloads.

  • Collaborates with Procurement Agents to establish and maintain priorities for deliveries of products, services and data that support necessary supplier contractual corrective actions and resolution of issues (e.g., poor schedule performance, product and producibility issues) to ensure contractual compliance.

  • Engages with Procurement Agent and Supplier to address and eliminate shortages.

  • Participates with the procurement agent in on-site supplier assessments (e.g., Preferred Supplier Certification, Proof of Process and Rate Readiness) to identify supplier capacity and capability to perform current and projected work statement and support Boeing procurement strategy and Boeing commercial program rates.

  • Collaborate with Industrial Engineering and other internal functions to evaluate supplier’s stability in the current environment, assess their capabilities and resilience in terms of their financial stability, operational flexibility, innovation potential, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to address gaps or opportunities that emerge, work together to find solutions, improve processes, and leverage synergies. Share best practices, insights, and resources to enhance mutual learning and development. Build trust, loyalty, and long-term partnerships with suppliers.

  • Identifies and communicates opportunities to implement new processes or improves existing process both internally and externally.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in Aerospace Manufacturing and Operations and/or manufacturing support

  • 5+ years of experience with Supply Chain Procurement Processes

  • 5+ years of experience in working directly with suppliers or supplier management

  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):  

  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 10+ years of experience with Project Management

  • 10+ years of Technical Knowledge experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience with Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma

  • 10+ years of experience in a role of effective Written and Verbal Communication

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Typical Education/Experience:

Typically, 6 or more years' related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range Level 3: $88,400 - $119,600
