Parts Control Specialist  

General Description:

Responsible for buy material based on demand using the ERP/ MRP and looking to avoid manual process where is possible to manage the demand. Sending the firm and forecast to the suppliers, assure the communication with supplier by EDI is working properly.

Manage and review material availability for production based on forecast and production program.

Work closely with suppliers to ensure material on time / Use ERP system to schedule deliveries.

Manage and expedite purchase orders needed to fulfill build schedule for on-time delivery.

Closely follow up with suppliers to assure materials, production, and on time deliveries. Be able to create a delivery plan with critical commodities.

Work closely with cross-functional teams ensuring suppliers improvements, logistics, inventory level, specifications, on time deliveries, etc.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning and management of the entire supply chain (Warehouse, transportation, and inventory control).
  • Ability to think strategically whilst managing the day to day demands
  • Minimize any obsolescence due to new model; Make sure to only order material according to EOP.
  • Capacity management and forecasting experience
  • Analyze data from shipping and delivering processes to find bottlenecks and other issues
  • Monitor the complete logistics process to make sure it runs smoothly
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the Supply Chain (purchasing,
  • warehouse, inventory, and logistics)
  • Review engineering changes and take necessary actions to anticipate any errors or delays in the manufacturing of part numbers.
  • Follow up to shortages by logistics or supplier, leading meetings where is necessary, to align the departments on critical situation, providing information related with quantities and estimated time arrivals. Communicate the critical materials and escalate on time and properly any point that can affect the operation
  • Ensure accomplishment for internal KPI´s (on time delivery / inventory level / supplier improvements)

Education/Certifications:

  • Engineering or Bachelor’s Degree related with Business Administration.

Previous Work Experience

  • Business Negotiation / Lean Manufacturing.
  • Scheduling.
  • Parts control.

  • Language: English (middle-advanced).
  • Travel %: Occasionally (50%).
  • Must have: Teamwork, Personnel Management, Responsible, Proactive, Organized, Planning and Leadership, Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Nice to have: Learning, Self-confidence, Initiative, Adaptability, Personal motivation.
  • Computer Skills:  Microsoft Office, Advanced Excel, SAP System.
