Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Mid-Level Program Trade Compliance Specialist (Project Management Specialist) to join our Strategic Global Integration (SGI) team. This team focuses on implementing international trade compliance activities into daily import and export business operations for a Large Distribution Centre, conducting compliance assessments in collaboration with Global Trade Controls and working with a variety of internal stakeholders to ensure that the proper processes, procedures, and authorizations are in place.

In this role, the specialist will function as a strategic business partner that enables Boeing’s business and accelerates Boeing’s global growth by collaborating with Global Trade Controls in providing expert guidance on complex trade requirements and regulations. Strategic Global Integration specialists collaborate with stakeholders to solve problems, offer innovative solutions, and translate regulatory policies to advance Boeing’s long-term objectives. In conjunction with Global Trade Controls, SGI fosters a culture of compliance and helps identify and mitigate risks across the enterprise.

This position allows for limited telecommuting. The selected candidate will primarily be required to work onsite at the Boeing Cologne Warehouse.

Position Responsibilities

  • Analyze practical applicability of global trade control requirements to Business Programs and develop, implement and maintain processes to ensure compliance.

  • Responsible for daily import and export transaction execution by ensuring coordination between multiple stakeholders in USA and EU, as well as customs broker and 3PL.

  • Supports other functions in case of Regulatory audit.

  • Develop in collaboration with Global Trade Controls regulatory documentation and or reporting for business programs which may include multiple agencies and authorization types.

  • Monitor Customs brokers activities

  • Partner with GTC on specific trade compliance projects

  • Able to manage different types of Special Customs Authorizations and Special Customs Duties relief schemes and mitigating actions

  • Develops overall project plan consistent with project objectives as defined by the project owner and key stakeholders in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry (e.g., PMI, Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI, and ISO standards)

  • Works to improve project management processes and business systems that support project decision makers

  • May lead others and direct all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through to completion

  • Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives

  • Ensures that all project control systems within the scope of the project are in place and integrates project data for decision makers

  • Manages trade compliance tools and software (SAP GTS)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • 3+ years experience with German customs brokerage and/or freight forwarding/logistics

  • 3+ years experience with German trade and EU import/export & intra-EU regulations

  • 3+ years experience supporting global trade controls matters

  • 3+ years experience integrating cross functional teams

  • 3+ years experience in a role that requires project management skills, tools and processes

  • 3+ years experience developing relationships with business partners and customers

  • 3+ years experience with Microsoft Excel

  • Fluent in English & German (able to perform routine translations)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with Dual-Use technology control regulations

  • Experience with sanctions

  • Experience with SAP systems

  • Experience with warehouse fulfillment operations

  • Experience as a technical subject matter expert and mentor

  • Effective influencing skills working with various levels of business leaders

  • Experience in developing and delivering training materials

  • Experience using Program Management Best Practices

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
