The Marketing Legal Compliance Coordinator I works on a team responsible for verifying the legal compliance of all forms of public communications coming from Lithia Motors and our dealerships. This position is based out of the Lithia Home Office with the option for remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Complete training on the subject matter and utilize notes and reference documents to assist in reviewing advertisements
  • With support from the team, verify the legal compliance of all forms of public communications coming from Lithia Motors and our dealerships
  • Maintain an existing file system that allows quick access to approved ads and evidence of approval
  • Maintain and update reference documents relevant to compliance review
  • Become an expert on federal and state automobile advertising laws
  • Maintain an existing reference catalog of state and federal laws
  • Cultivate awareness of relevant topics including TCPA Compliance
  • Become an expert on Do-not-call and Privacy laws
  • Perform periodic audits on Lithia dealership websites
  • When Lithia expands into new states, assist in researching state advertising laws and developing a compliance guide for reference
  • Make process recommendations
  • Proofread various LAD projects for spelling and grammar
  • Develop quick and simple compliance references for the creative staff

Skills and Qualifications

The following knowledge, skills and abilities are needed to be successful in this position:

  • Advanced reading and research skills - An enormous amount of reading is required initially
  • Advanced business writing, spelling and grammar skills
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Must work effectively with internal and external teams
  • B.A / B.S Preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to work well independently and in teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

High School graduate or equivalent, 18 years or older required. Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence necessary for select roles.
