Job Objectives
He/she will be hosted by Regional Business Development in Japan, and will
support the “Strategy and Marketing” of Space Products in Japan.

Acting as an independent business unit within Space Systems, Space Products is an equipment supplier with more than 50 years of experience and great success in serving the international market. Leader in spacecraft equipment, we offer a wide variety of products for all satellites and launcher integrators, from standard products to customized solutions, at same time for classic Space and for Constellations/New space specific needs.

Space Products gathers the 3 prestigious existing Brands of TESAT, JENA-
OPTRONIK and AIRBUS, and with decades of experience, Space Products offers a large portfolio of solutions covering Avionics, AOCS sensors, Power, Payload, Structure, RF, Optical and Testing product segments.

Primary responsibilities
He/she is responsible to implementing and executing the Space Products Marketing plan toward his/her assigned customers.
He/she is the primary point of contact for the customers into the Space Products organization.

He/she represents the 3 Space Products brands: Airbus, TESAT and JENA-OPTRONIK.

He/she is working in cooperation with the various Space Products Business Units
 

Secondary Responsibilities
His/her main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain the customer relationship allocated to you, with inparticular a very strong focus on the two historical local space actors NEC and MELCO, looking for excellent an accurate estimation of expected future campaigns and associated opportunities for Space Products
  • Beside to those historical actors NEC and MELCO, continuously screen the Japanese business landscape to identify any “New Space” actors and develop the right networks to identify future programs and potential business opportunities for Space Products
  • Develop and maintain close relationship and network with Japanese Space Agency JAXA and other vernmental/institutional organisations that are relevant for Space programs & related strategies
  • Proactively maintain and lead an efficient, accurate and exhaustive communication channel with all Business units
  • Whenever a lead/opportunity is identified, support the business acquisition, in close relationship with European Business Units, by providing the right support and internal communication
  • Identify any deviation or improvement opportunity, in close cooperation with the Business Units, always looking for customer satisfaction and business growth in running & for future programs
  • Ensure the zero-tolerance application of Ethics and Compliance Airbus policy
  • In a general manner, actively support implementation and deployment of the full Airbus “Business Acquisition Process”, considering Space Products portfolio and strategic plan: gather intelligence information about the upcoming Request for Proposal, analyze competition situation, define Winning Strategy, Identify the “hot buttons”, then support negotiation up to contract achievement, in close relationship with program teams
  • Support ad-hoc Marketing actions such as the presentation of the Products, attending major local conferences
  • Educate European stakeholder wrt to Japanese culture, aiming continuous improvement
  • Plan, organize & support visits of European Business Units to Japanese customers & other stakeholders

  • Ability to build-up network with external customers
  • Experience in contracts negotiation in different cultural environments
  • Work style characterized by autonomy, initiative, cooperation, ownership and accountability
  • Excellent communication skills and social competence
  • Creative, problem-solving orientation

Professional skills

  • Engineer graduated, with more than 10 years’ experience in business development domains
  • Experience with customers within space domain
  • English negotiation level mandatory, German and/or French would be beneficial
