EGM –Business Processes Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV

Job Description

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Tech Center on a full-time basis.

The Role

Embark on a visionary journey with GM's Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) team, where your leadership will shape the future of automotive electrical systems. In this strategic role, you will define the business plan and multi-year strategy to exceed our customers’ expectations for electrical performance in their vehicles in a way that is cost-effective to the enterprise. You will support this diverse technical organization by managing business processes, communications, and culture as we move into an exciting future.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV Director in the organization and running of the business (staff meetings, special assignments, etc.).

  • Lead a team of business managers and coordinators, focusing on their development and fostering a people-first culture.

  • Develop and maintain multi-year business strategy for improving vehicle electrical performance across the global manufacturing footprint.

  • Manage the business planning strategy including the Business Plan Deployment (BPD) and internal processes for the organization.

  • Assess the execution of initiatives versus the business plan.

  • Analyze and report out on key operating metrics such as E-FTQ, electrical warranty, and Manufacturing Cost Per Unit (MCPU).

  • Manage multiple budgets (operations, capital, people).

  • Continuously evolve and future-proof business processes to enhance operational efficiency and exceed the future needs of our stakeholders.

  • Identify and quantify cost reduction opportunities and handle a variety of special assignments.

  • Develop and conduct presentations for all levels of management.

  • Champion a culture of foresight and innovation, encouraging the sharing of future-oriented lessons learned, best practices, and vehicle insights across assembly plant teams.

  • Foster a forward-thinking work culture that embraces change and navigates through future organizational and industry challenges to ensure long-term project success.

  • Build and nurture strategic relationships across a spectrum of functions, including electronics, software, calibration, quality, manufacturing, and program management, to synergize efforts towards future innovations.

  • Exemplify and instill GM’s Core Values and Winning Behaviors with a forward-looking perspective, setting new standards for leadership and teamwork in the era of automotive innovation.

  • This role requires up to 50% travel, often with little notice. International travel is likely.

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • 7 years of experience related to Manufacturing processes, project management, or business operations

  • Proven ability to articulate visionary concepts effectively and communicate professionally and concisely to all levels of leadership

  • People-first leadership skills

  • Demonstrated project management prowess, with an understanding of future automotive systems and the evolution of automotive technologies.
