WHAT TO EXPECT 

 

This role sits within the Motion Systems & Software Integration Team, who is responsible for the engineering of Chassis Control Systems and Software such as: ABS, Suspension Controls, Terrain Response, Vehicle Motion Control, Steering Controls, Motion Information Services.

 

The System and Validation Lead Engineer will work primarily as part of the Motion Information Services squad, leading the system level test case specification and system level validation. The Motion Information Services Squad is responsible for providing Motion Active Systems with information such as mass property estimation, gradient estimation, etc and it is a multifunctional squad spread across various JLR sites.

 

The role will have a high emphasis on vehicle testing and validation and will participate in the calibration of the Motion Information Services. The individual will work closely with the customers of the Motion Information Services, such as Vehicle Dynamics and the relevant Chassis Control Systems.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • System/Vehicle level test case definition, working together with the customers of the Motion Information Services such as such as Vehicle Dynamics and the relevant Chassis Control Systems.
  • Develop and own vehicle level test strategy and system level Validation and Verification plan.
  • Lead the execution of the vehicle/system level Validation and Verification plan.
  • Ensure full preparation of test facility and test properties.
  • Support the calibration and issue investigation of the Motion Information Services Function.

 

WHAT YOU NEED

 

  • Technical expertise and experience of in-vehicle validation and testing techniques.
  • Knowledge of at least one Vehicle Control System such us Stability Control, Roll Stability Control, Adaptive Suspension, Active Suspension, Electric Power Assisted steering…
  • Software logging tools such as Canape, Canalyzer…
  • Ability to collect and summarise customer requirements and define test cases.
  • Data analysis and reporting of test data.
  • Full driving license and experience in driven vehicle tests.
