The industry is growing quickly at a time when the technology is changing rapidly which poses a number of challenges for JLR. The technology is changing at a faster rate compared to our normal maturation timelines. So, to manage this, we must look forward and identify the right technologies that we need to invest in and determine how we grow as a team to accommodate and deliver this.

 

The battery team is one of the fastest growing teams in the JLR business with main focus to respond to the increasing mix of BEV vehicles in our cycle plan. We are looking for Simulation and Modelling Engineers to be based in the Battery Systems Advanced Concepts & Research Pillar, reporting to the Pillar Head. You will get the opportunity as the Simulation and Modelling Engineer to be a part of implementing Simulation and Modelling solutions to meet component functional targets.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities  

 

  • Develop the Simulation and Modelling part of the BEV battery technology roadmaps to support JLRs electrification transition.
  • Consolidate and create benchmark material from device to vehicle that maximises our understanding of our competitors and the current / latest technology landscape being deployed.
  • Work alongside our Engineering Operations team to ensure we have the right Simulation and Modelling in place to execute the technology roadmap.
  • Work alongside key business stakeholders to ensure we meet our vehicle product needs.
  • Develop and cascade a technology roadmap that takes us to the next generation of battery technologies such as solid state and Simulation and Modelling-to-car / module-to-car concepts.

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

 

  • Experience of the multi-physics nature of Simulation and Modelling and battery design and integration.
  • Experience within the competitor Simulation and Modelling and battery manufacturing industry.
  • An ability to communicate a technical concept and strategy vision to the wider vehicle and Power Train electrification teams in order to drive toward a single optimised roadmap.
  • Ability to help build and lead a winning team in the field of Simulation and Modelling / battery pack future strategies and research.
  • Knowledge of the BEV Simulation and Modelling and battery landscape across the worldwide supply base or other OEM manufacturers to allow credible and competitive concepts and strategies to be followed.
