Job Summary:

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an experienced mechanical or systems engineer to be a lubrication system lead of a gas turbine engine program.

This position offers opportunities for cross-discipline collaboration and leadership within Pratt & Whitney, direct interaction with high-level internal and external customers, and a wide variety of non-repetitive engineering analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading a small team on the development and validation of a new or upgraded lubrication system

  • Contributing to root cause investigations and troubleshooting for in-service and development engine programs by processing full flight "big data" and executing lubrication and thermal management system models.

  • Specifying engine validation test plans, interpreting test data, and calibrating models based on results

  • Developing system models for new engine programs

  • Specification of performance requirements for system components and requirements for controls logic

  • Summarizing system status to requirements during presentations at design reviews

  • Minimal travel required, if any

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering

  • 5+ years of engineering experience OR an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Detailed understanding of heat transfer and fluid dynamics

  • Experience in system-level analysis tools (e.g., Dymola, MATLAB, Simulink)

  • Demonstrated ability to juggle a large number of tasks with competing priorities, coach/mentor others and delegate

  • Experience with Python, MATLAB or other coding languages

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
