Senior Inventory Accountant

The Accountant provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports. Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Documents financial transactions by entering account information

General Responsibilities

• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile financial information
• Analyze current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
•Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
• Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Liaise with management to improve financial procedures
•Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
•Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

·         Prepare and analyze the excess and obsolescence of inventory, capitalized variances, and other inventory related analyses and entries

·         Monitor and coordinate warehouse counting procedures and controls with regional and warehouse leaders

·         Prepare global inventory flux analyses to be reviewed by management

·         Reconcile company and global inventory balances to inventory subledgers

·         Take part in controllership and oversight activities

·         Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls

·         Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles

·         Partner with internal and external audit teams

·         Assist corporate accounting team with other tasks as needed
