Job Summary:

Raytheon provides end-to-end space solutions – from ground control systems to on-orbit sensors – to keep our customers informed and ahead of the threat.  Each day, ground stations receive vast amounts of data from satellites in orbit. Using complex algorithms, they process all of the bits and bytes received and turn them into useable information for the end users who consume this data. As the volume of data grows, ground stations need to evolve and adapt.

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Database Integration Engineer. The candidate select will be working on a team of skilled software engineers who are designing, developing, and maintaining next-generation satellite mission software in Colorado Springs, CO.

Relocation assistance available provided candidate meets eligibility requirements.

Required Skills:

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Extensive Database Engineering experience with Oracle
  • Optimize database performance and plan for forecast resource needs
  • Experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)
  • Experience with SQL
  • Ablity to Troubleshoot slot to slot within a Hardware string resource contention
  • Perform analysis, design, and implementation of physical and logical structure of databases
  • Methodical approach to Database troubleshooting/debugging

Desired Skills:

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills in an operationally deployed environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to Identify, report, and manage database security issues, audit trails, and forensics
  • Tools development for automation of Database administration tasks

Experience and Education Requirements: 

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years' relevant or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
