New Product Introduction Engineer

My Role:

  • Responsibility for MFG cost management of assigned Products in the region from early quote phases up to series production
  • Planner designated as the Regional Lead Planner for a product group is the primary planner for MFG quotes for that product in that region,
  • Attend kick-off and peer review meetings, prepare quotation files for industrialization of new products, with technical support of EGM/LME
  • Provide ‘Gap to Target’ analysis and gap closure plans for quotes
  • Support the EGM/LME on line concepts concerning cost and estimated cycle times
  • Align all capital requests and prepare/support appropriation requests
  • Make initial CFT entries in CFT after business is won and AR is approved
  • Support LME on PR activities for products in the region
  • Support MSD activities
  • Planner also designated as the Global Leader for a product group is responsible to ensure all quotes for that product group are done consistently and will work with the Product Mfg Eng Chief to resolve any process concerns impacting a quote.  This role will also serve as the Mfg interface to the GP organization supporting Platform Product development for designated products
  • Planner also designated as the Global Capacity Leader for a product group is responsible for overseeing global capacity for designated product groups, participating in monthly capacity reviews with relevant sites, managing the capital forecast (CFT) and budget for the designated product groups, and ensuring funding plans are in place for needed equipment & tooling

My Background:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in automotive industry
  • Bachelor degree or similar with financial background (Industrial, Process, Mechatronics)
  • Excellent management skills
  • Outstanding analysis capabilities for cost calculation, budget, capital planning and management
  • Ability to work and live in a global network environment
  • Outstanding knowledge of lean concepts
  • Outstanding knowledge of financial figures
  • Business fluent English
