Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Linux System Administrator to join the team in Berkeley, MO. 

As a Linux Administrator, your talents will help us bring logistics, manufacturing, and engineering into a seamless ecosystem. You will work directly on installing, configuring, and maintaining a secure network capable of running and supporting all of the tools, and more importantly, people involved in this mission. 

This position directly supports our Air Dominance (AD), F-15, F-18, P8-A, Apache, Training Systems, Mission Systems, Phantom Works, F-22, or Flight Simulation programs. We provide Enterprise capabilities in the closed networks, including standard office, application development stacks, engineering workflows, vulnerability remediation, etc.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Delivery and maintenance of information technology (IT) Infrastructure and services aligned to industry and Boeing enterprise best practices
  • Responds to system events, user requests and incidents logged in management systems
  • Performs analysis of log files, systems, and network traffic
  • Executes vulnerability assessment and remediation
  • Executes system Hardening
  • Executes system Administration of RHEL Operating Systems
  • Identifies and raise technical challenges and limitations within the infrastructure estate
  • Provides comprehensive and timely communications to key stakeholders
  • Works to well-defined SLAs & KPIs

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • 3+ years of experience using LINUX operating system
  • 3+ years of experience with Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems (Server 2016 -2022 Windows 10)
  • 3+ years of experience with VMWare, vCenter, vSphere, and managing virtual machines
  • 3+ years of experience working with infrastructure & network design

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Skills/Experience)

  • Experience with Cisco ACI
  • Experience with Cisco ASA
  • Experience with Private Key Infrastructure / Certificate Authority
  • Experience with McAfee EPO/DLP
  • Experience with Skype for Business
  • Experience with Nessus
  • Experience with PRTG
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange On-Prem

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.)
