WHAT TO EXPECT

 

We are pursuing an accomplished Lead Engineer, poised to play a pivotal role in advancing our Power Electronics Validation.

 

You will be responsible for determining the appropriate content for our internal and supplier test implementation. You will also assist the delivery teams towards best-in-class test techniques.

 

You will be at the forefront of traction inverter test, covering the virtual and physical environments, in support of software, hardware, system and vehicle level prove-out. As part of that journey, we need to tailor our process & methods with a new toolchain, adding more best practice, and delivering greater throughput.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Support the test process during the development and production release phases for Power Electronic components. Ensuring that any required test methods are created and released on time
  • Process refinement for optimal use of X-Ray (JIRA-based test manager) alongside Enovia TRM, supported by ‘Global Test Platform’ (central team for standardised process & tools)
  • Supporting alignment with specialist (sister) Chapters for reliability engineering, data analytics, CAE and on-board diagnostics
  • Support the test facility (operations) team by ensuring the rig interfaces to the component are documented and that the test content is clear and plausible for the rig operation and rig capability
  • Mentor and coordinate team members, including junior engineers and apprentices, some of whom will be working from different locations / different time zones

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Strong experience in Automotive Powertrain Engineering in a Systems Engineering environment covering requirements approval and test design
  • Familiarity with powertrain software/system functional testing and fault insertion
  • Working Knowledge of Problem Resolution Techniques e.g. 8D and 5Y process
  • Strong people skills and the ability to work individually and in cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of control systems hardware, including sensor technology, control software and diagnostics
