WHAT TO EXPECT



This role is based within the Electrical Engineering and Electrical Vehicle (EE & EV) Operations Department at JLR supporting Electrical and Body Engineering validating our future electrical architecture. 



The role is laboratory based and involves leadership of a team of technicians and engineers, delivering rig-based solutions for the customer engineering teams and liaising with those engineers on project delivery and the delivery of future technology. 



You will be a pivotal element of the laboratory technology development and future expansion supporting the vital and increasing need for effective software and electrical component verification. The role also includes management of the Health & Safety (H&S) of the facility, in conjunction with the other EE Operations Lead Engineer and development of your team.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 



●    Contribute to the delivery of the system or software under development within the Electrical Test Laboratories, to meet the business and customer requirements on time at appropriate quality and cost.

●    To be a key and integral leader of the expanding EE Laboratory Operations team, supporting the programme/platform test verification delivery in conjunction with the EE and Digital Depts, with emphasis on autonomous software validation.

●    To collaborate with the customer teams and suppliers to develop new ways of testing and supporting the technological development of the JLR vehicles

●    Line management of HIL Operations team including training and job allocation

●    The management, creation and implementation of processes and procedures within the department

●    Ensure the operations meet the compliance requirements with support from Lead Engineer – EE Operations and the Engineering Laboratories Compliance team.

●    Ensure high levels of Facility tidiness and cleanliness at all times in line with company process (5s, Office Standards)



WHAT YOU’LL NEED 



●    Working knowledge of Automotive Standards, ideally Electrical/Software related.

●    Knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture and vehicle networks.

●    NI Veristand, dSpace ControlDesk or Vector Toolkit knowledge

●    Automotive HV Systems Experience

●    Good understanding ISO 14001, ISO45001, and IATF 16949

●    Valid Driving Licence.
