Job Summary:

This position is for a Project Engineering professional working independently. Supports the development of project plans, schedules and budgets, tracks progress, resolves problems, develops solutions, and forecasts project revenue. Coordinates with other functional organizations. Identifies and addresses project problems, analyzes data gathered, and develops solutions and recommendations to solve problems, meet deadlines and optimize performance. Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop of project plans, schedules, budgets and support project management activities.

  • Tracks progress, identifies and resolves obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules to ensure smooth project operations.

  • Prepare and present status and technical content to CIPT and upper Pratt & Whitney management.

  • Analyzes data gathered and develops solutions or alternative methods of proceeding to optimize performance and increase efficiency of work.

  •  Work closely with IPT members and authorities on hardware field investigations to drive root cause and recommend product improvements.

  • Lead Class 1 and Class 2 engineering change execution and performs risks assessments and develop mitigation plan as needed.

  • Maintains and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s) to track progress and ensure that established targets are met. 

  • Identifies and addresses project problems and recommends resolutions to ensure the successful completion of projects and facilitates project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.

  • Support military budget EVMS activities and attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required.

  • Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement using ACE tools and support AS9100 efforts.

  • Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company.

  • Travel is up tp 10%.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace industry or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience.

  • English fluency (verbal and written)

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

  • Experience working in the Aerospace Industry

  • Previous gas turbine experience

  • Working proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, MS Project or other scheduling software

  • The ability to craft clear communication and build positive relationships

  • Active Security Clearance

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent at promoting teamwork
