Job Description
Hybrid: Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time, but the
general expectation is that the employee be onsite at minimum three (3) days
each week.
Role
This role is critical for improving the quality of GM products including
reducing warranty and improving E-FTQ by preventing defects through
software design and manufacturing process development. This role will lead
a team to help the vehicle plants Identify the root cause, correct, and eliminate
problems in a team approach, while making the problems solved useful in
product and process improvement. Then propose and implement a short-term
fix and a long-term solution to prevent the recurring problem across all
manufacturing sights.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

Lead a team of highly technical Engineers to monitor all plant EFTQ data and provide weekly reports on issues and metrics

Collaborate cross-functionally with product engineering and manufacturing sites

Identify root cause, corrective action, and track issues with Task, Owner, and timing to resolution

Provide plant comparison data and read across actionable items.

Understand top issues plants are experiencing and read across to future programs to drive early intervention

Work with plant teams to remove roadblocks impacting EFTQ and thru-put issues

Be the Voice of the Global Manufacturing Electrical and SDV team (formerly GEST)

Role requires 50% travel within North America

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

5+ Vehicle Manufacturing Experience
-
Overall experience in vehicle electrical system and Automotive assembly plant operations
-
Experience with EOL test stations (i.e. DVT Coordinator)
-
Supervisor experience
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Bachelors or Associates degree
-
Experience with GM IT systems (i.e. GSIP, GEPICS, MERS, PRTS, ECM)

GM quality systems and vehicle development process

Familiarity with vehicle electrical architecture (i.e., ISO 14229, Cybersecurity, Ethernet)

Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering
