Joining us as Functional Safety Software Engineer, you will be working cross-functionally alongside System Engineers, Component Engineers, and external suppliers, ensuring everything that is produced aligns with functional safety processes and requirements. This will involve working with hardware/software development teams to design ISO 26262 compliant systems, perform safety analysis, define safety goals, functional safety requirements, technical safety requirements, and hardware and software safety requirements. 

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: 

  • Support the delivery of functional safety software deliverables within ADAS across the range of JLR vehicles. 

  • Assist and contribute to the generation of targets and verification methods that are driven by the Safety Requirements and Safety Analysis 

  • Perform Software safety analysis (SW-FMEA, DFA, FTA) 

  • Providing technical support and assistance across the department teams on topics relating to functional safety, including issue resolution and objective data analysis 

  • Ensuring products align with functional safety processes and requirements. 

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

  • Previous experience implementing functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262 and/or IEC 61508) in safety-related development projects. 

  • Expertise in C/C++ embedded software development. 

  • Knowledge of software safety analysis (SW-FMEA, DFA, FTA) 

  • Knowledge of requirements management (RM). 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
