Job Summary:

Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Military Engines is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to represent the P&W Team at Edwards Air Force Base as a Field Service Engineer (FSE). This position is a customer facing role in a high visibility and part of a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Advanced Programs, F-35B/F-35C/F135 and F22/F119 operations to include systems, tooling, material, and processes. The FSE will have hands-on interaction with the engine (software and hardware), aircraft, and unit personnel.
  • Ensure comprehensive reporting on support activities including aircraft and engine status, flight reports, operational data, engine configuration status and parts consumption.
  • Use self-initiative and judgment to identify problems, conduct investigations to determine root cause, and coordinate solutions between P&W and the customer. The FSE will be responsible for coordinating field issues with the local P&W team, Engineering, and Logistics Program Management.
  • Align with Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) requirements and participating in Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) initiatives.
  • Support technicians for any technical issue and assist them thru the inspection, disassembly, assembly, and test processes.
  • Must have the ability to rotate first and second shift schedules as required to meet customer support and team objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or 2 years of post-high school training and 9 years of engine/aircraft maintenance, logistics, and logistics support. This includes supply chain management and Support Equipment management required, Or, Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred with a  minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in engine/aircraft maintenance, logistics, and logistics support. This includes supply chain management and Support Equipment management required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required. Candidates that have had a clearance that has recently lapsed (not more than 2 years), may apply for consideration.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience on the F135 engine and associated programs to include Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS)/OBPHM.
  • Knowledge of turbine engine theory and operation.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 176,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
