Job Summary:

Pratt & Whitney Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development including: requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, and product software design, verification & validation. We integrate the control and diagnostic system design across other engine system modules and with the air vehicles and provide support throughout the complete engine product life cycle.

This position is for a Senior Engineer, Control System Systems Integration Engineering professional predominately in the Auxiliary Power Unit and Turbojets area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Development, Management, and Allocation.
  • Integration of engine control systems components and subsystems including Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC), electro-mechanical interface devices, sensors, actuation components, heat exchangers, valves, fuel pumps and fuel controls.
  • System level coordination of engine requirements and verification planning with multi-disciplinary teams within P&W as well as with our customers.
  • Review engine parameter data, support investigations through Root Cause Corrective Action activity, isolate issues to the component level for disposition.
  • Establish and manage incoming and outgoing control system and airframe interface requirements. Analyze, decompose, validate and document all relevant functional requirements.
  • Advance the use of Model Based Systems Engineering tools and practices to further enhance execution of the above (Examples: Cameo Systems Modeler, and Dymola).
  • Control system analysis to support requirements development/verification.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering with a bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in engine control system design and validation.
  • Experience in fuel and actuation architecture studies and system design.
  • Experience in engine control input/output electrical interfaces.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with DOORs, Matlab, Dymola (or similar physics based modeling application), and/or Cameo Systems Modeler (or similar SYSML application)
  • Demonstrated experience with lab test, bench test, engine test and/or flight test.
