The Senior Business Development Manager- Maritime Systems is a key contributor for the identification, targeting and capture of viable new business in accordance with the objectives stated in the company Strategic Plan working as part of a team led by the Business Development Director. In this role, you will be responsible for forming business relationships with key customers, to solicit and deliver appropriate pre-proposal activities that lead to formal customer Requests for Proposals, as well as leading the preparation and delivery of successful Thermal, Electronic and Defense Solutions (TEDS) Business Proposals. The primary product focus will be on maritime products such as fuel cells and life support systems within the military and commercial undersea sector both domestically and internationally.

This position can be worked remotely from home with the preference of location to be in the Northeast to visit the Windsor Locks, CT facility as needed. (preferred, not required)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Focal point for promoting TEDS Maritime products to new and existing customers.
  • Identification and keeping current of Customer organizations and management structures.
  • Identification of key decision makers and influencers within Customer organizations
  • Establishing of appropriate relationships with key customer management
  • Identification of new business opportunities
  • Input of opportunities to Marketing Opportunities Database
  • Prioritization of new business opportunities
  • Quantification and Prioritization of new business opportunities for Strategic Plan
  • Own the Price-to-Win process.
  • Develop and brief compelling strategic and business growth opportunities to include market and competitive analysis via decision gate reviews.
  • 40% travel annually both domestic and international

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant business development experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain or have already obtained a U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance
  • Former US Navy background is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of naval systems technologies

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 236,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
