Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a strong Associate Director Value Stream Engineering Manager, for the Landing Gear (LG) Systems Group, to lead and manage multiple Military Landing Gear projects. You will need to establish key priorities in workflow processes and oversee the execution of resource allocations to ensure optimization of strategy and implementation. You will report to the Military Landing Gear Engineering Director and be responsible for strategic and tactical execution of projects for military landing gear systems. You will also be responsible for budgeting, staffing, and execution for all engineering aspects, responsible for working with key customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders in a cross functional environment.  In addition, you will be accountable for the customer satisfaction and financial performance of the Value Stream.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Accountable for cost, schedule, performance, on-time delivery, quality, customer relationships, and overall customer satisfaction of the landing gear engineering systems products and services
  • Oversee Value Stream goals and objectives to ensure alignment with the Landing Systems engineering organizational targets and strategies
  • Foster empowerment and inclusion, establish talent development opportunities, recognize achievements, and develop highly motivated teams
  • Establish strategy, operating norms, and adopt the CMS policies/procedures and cadence for a multi-functional team to ensure the assigned areas of responsibility meet business goals and objectives.
  • Review project and budget status, manage schedules, and prepare/present reports
  • Monitor and assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet technical requirements, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives
  • Foster strong customer and supplier relationships through accountability, transparency, and credibility.
  • Ensure resources are allocated to meet program expectations, and divisional resources are effectively utilized leveraging skills and program needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the IPT, drive problem resolution; lead and coach.
  • Responsible for working with key customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders in a cross functional environment. 
  • Accountable for the customer satisfaction and financial performance of their Value Stream.
  • Ensure compliance with; Collins’s engineering methodologies, and QMS procedures, ITAR and regulatory requirements.
  • Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit
  • Perform other duties as required

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

  • Responsible for program management and budget, program execution, business plans and strategies
  • Program/Project Management experience in all phases of Product Life Cycle (PLC)
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Experience leading, supporting and mentoring individual team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing complex programs for the entire product life cycle
  • Experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) programs
  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous root cause investigations and implementation of process and product corrective actions
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies: Lean, Six Sigma, ACE and/or CORE
  • Demonstrated ability to lead geographically dispersed teams, located across multiple sites
  • Experience managing Large Engineering Programs

The salary range for this role is 139,000 USD - 277,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
