WHAT TO EXPECT

 

As the ADAS platform senior systems engineer you will be responsible for leading the creation, development, simulation and integration of an executable platform system model to describe, visualize and enable the system that will deliver the premium experience our customers expect. You will champion innovation - evaluating new technologies and applying systems thinking engineering principles to develop the next generation of Driver Assistance Automation systems.

You will help to develop others - Supporting the creation of the “body of knowledge” for Assisted and Automated Systems at JLR and ensure continuous improvement to methods and standardisation of systems engineer artefacts, supporting your own growth as well as your wider team and project.

 

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

 

  • Drive technical alignment and integration across all disciplines to ensure the scope of feature or component is delivered, and that the solution being developed is fit for the intended purpose.

  • Ensure that a complete and coherent set of systems engineering artefacts are delivered to the right quality level to achieve program milestones

  • Ensure that all legal and quality activities required by the Systems engineers in the department have been completed on time and to the required quality level

  • Support the development of Architecture Concepts for future features and so that the needs of the AAD Products  

  • Represent JLR in cross industry working and interest groups and at Systems Engineering Conferences 

  • Work with Chapter Leads to identify and mentor subject matter experts and skills needs. 

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

As the ADAS platform senior systems engineer you will need to be experienced in all aspects of systems engineering: concept design, requirements authoring, logical and solution architecture, quality and legal activities. You have experience working with agile methodologies and tools.

 

  • Ability to develop conceptual designs for complex and embedded systems made of hardware and software that are the platform for vehicle features and systems

  • Ability to resolve complex systems engineering problems

  • Competent SysML modeler, ideally MSOSA, and TRM requirements author

  • Competent requirements author (ideally TRM, or other requirements management tools) 

  • Understanding of Functional Safety (ISO-26262), Cyber, GDPR and Quality techniques

  • Understanding of Failure mode analysis and prevention, Automotive Diagnostics (e.g. UDS) development, ability to capture stakeholder diagnostics requirements and fault handling strategies

  • Competent using diagnostic and onboard network tools to interrogate vehicles diagnostic information, evaluate systems behaviour and components performance
