Systems Engineer for Eurofighter Simulation Programs (d/f/m)

Eurofighter Typhoon is the world’s most advanced swing-role combat aircraft providing simultaneously deployable Air-to-Air and Air-to-Surface capabilities. Airbus is acting as the main contractor within the industrial Pilot Synthetic Training System consortium. Combat Training Systems department develops state-of-the-art EF simulator systems. Long term, multinational, large scale system of systems programs are the best place to learn and perform engineering activities.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Perform system engineering activities over the complete project life cycle, ensuring that all customer requirements are fulfilled.
  • Management and analysis of customer needs and expectations to define system/sub-system requirements.
  • Design and define possible architectures (SW / HW), in collaboration with specialists, based on the requirements.
  • Definition of requirements acceptance criteria and support development of test plans and test procedures.
  • Create and maintain engineering documents including specifications, reports, plans, diagrams and presentations.
  • Support cost estimating, planning and scheduling of system engineering efforts.
  • Perform project meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Sciences.
  • Deep work experience in Systems Engineering.
  • Deep knowledge of system engineering principles and V&V framework.
  • Experience within the training and flight simulation industry.
  • Experience in the EF programme (e.g., aircraft, training) is highly recommended.
  • Experience using DOORS for requirements management, Cameo for modelling, and Confluence and JIRA for tasks management.
  • Good knowledge of English both written and spoken is required to be able to work in a multicultural environment. Project language is English. German is beneficial.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
