The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:
Role Overview:
Corporate Strategy & Development (CS&D) is responsible for shaping the future strategic direction of the company in addition to identifying and vetting potential M&A targets for the company. CS&D reports directly to RTX’s President & CEO and the team serves as advisors to RTX leadership on the highest value issues and opportunities facing the company.
The CS&D MBA intern will gain exposure to Strategy and M&A at the executive level, create meaningful impact to RTX’s exciting technology and growth portfolio, and join a group with a history of developing successful leaders.
Primary Responsibilities:
MBA Interns are an integral part of the CS&D team, supporting active strategic projects and transactions during their time in the group. Past interns have been given self-directed strategy analyses and have presented their findings to senior management. Interns will have an assigned mentor, typically a past MBA Intern. Specific responsibilities may include:
- Analyzing market opportunities and competitive dynamics
- Evaluating potential acquisition targets (including valuation, structuring and actionability)
- Developing presentations for Raytheon Technologies leadership and the Board of Directors
- Supporting active M&A transactions
All CS&D team members are also expected to:
- Monitor competitive dynamics and M&A activity in RTX end markets and among corporate and business unit peers
- Build productive relationships with RTX business units to understand their businesses and strategic objectives
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent business judgment, critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to take ownership of assigned projects, handle ambiguity and independently drive for results
- Ability to understand financial statements and construct discounted cash flow models (whether from prior work experience, MBA coursework, or self-study)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience building credibility and respect across functions and organizational levels
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior strategy work (at a top-tier consulting firm or in a corporate strategy role) or transactional experience (at an investment bank or in a corporate development role)
Education:
- Currently pursuing an MBA. Please submit a copy of your academic transcripts with your application.
