Missions Systems Test Engineering SME team is seeking to fill a Senior Principal Systems Test Engineer position with a talented individual who possesses a BSME, BSSE, BSEE, BSCmptrE or Computer Science degree. The primary responsibility for this position is to lead, develop, and sustain acceptance test solutions in support of multiple products and programs. As a SME, you will be responsible for mentoring and guiding various test engineering teams throughout Mission Systems in either leading or reviewing test engineering projects. This individual must have experience leading projects in a system engineering role and strong external customer experience. The engineer who fills this position must have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. This position will be the technical lead on the hardware and software development and debug skills on multi-rack test stations. These test stations include but are not limited by the following COTs equipment: oscilloscopes, DMM's, logic analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, and optical measurement systems. This position also requires development and support of design documentation, such as test procedures, equipment specifications, and management of technical requirements.
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
This position will be in Cedar Rapids, but the candidate may be required to travel on occasion
Primary Responsibilities:
-
Follows Collins Aerospace processes/tools (documentation (PDM/Enovia), SCL, IMPACT, SAP, ALM)
-
Interacts with product design teams to capture and create test requirements for various levels of factory test.

Reverse engineers existing equipment (i.e., documenting something that is already built)
-
Perform tasks unsupervised, multitask and delegate work to support technicians, EPA’s, and peers.

Manages small teams through hardware builds (parts ordering, build coordination, etc.)

Bidding project activities
-
Identifies, categorizes, and averting project risks (risk management)

Test solutions and programs from development to deployment

Controls changes to the project scope and baseline

Designs and implements activities required to deploy the project test solutions to world-wide destinations

Reviews product designs and creates test solutions that maximize test coverage in the manufacturing and service environments

Prepares and presents project / technical information to peers, internal management, and customers

Coordinates several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
-
Must be a U.S. Citizen
-
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
-
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

Three (3) years’ experience using C#
-
Five (5) years’ experience using NI LabVIEW and Test stand
-
Experience with testing and automating using the following test equipment: spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer, signal generator, oscilloscope, and network analyzers.
