Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic intern level programmer able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with the Raytheon Technologies team.
Work on Raytheon related software projects. Some previous activities in these positions have involved modeling complex systems, simulating systems to understand mission performance, performing system trade studies, improving software efficiency, and developing software as part of an Agile software development team. This position is an onsite role.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Ability to design, develop, and maintain new software functionality
- Ability to work with previously written code and make modifications as necessary
- Ability to work closely with other disciplines (systems and test engineers) to troubleshoot and fix problems
- Enthusiastic and energetic performer able to work in a dynamic, fast paced, and sometimes pressured environment
- Team player incorporating a team-based success philosophy
- Contribute to the completion of program and project milestones under the specific guidance of his/her immediate supervisor
- Ability to follow established SW processes and procedures, development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment level), external and internal interfaces, and other software engineering work products/artifacts
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
- Proficiency in Java and/or C/C++ computer programming language on a Unix/Linux platform
- Experience using software development tools like Eclipse, Jira, Junit, and Git
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis, Design, and Programming
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to U.S Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements (ex. Positions on government customer sites)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Python, Bash, or Perl
- Experience with Cloud environments and DevOps
- Experience with databases (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, Sybase)
- Familiarity with Agile development

Additional Information:
Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 52,000 USD - 98,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
