Software Developer, CoSim Scrum Lead - HV Systems

Job Description

Hybrid: - Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time but the general expectation is that the employee be onsite three (3) days a week to the Markham or Oshawa offices of General Motors of Canada Company.

Key Responsibilities

As a Scrum Lead, you will play a critical role in defining and creating virtual simulation environments to enable verification and validation of embedded controllers for High (and Low) voltage systems as part of GM EV portfolio. You would be a great candidate if you have a passion for creating test environment, virtualization, an adept knowledge of hardware and software integrated systems, and a demonstrated capability to handle a wide variety of technical and customer needs. Acting as a Scrum Lead, you will be leading an Agile team, working very closely with teams inside and outside of your department to integrate and deliver virtual test environments (CoSimulation Environments) on time and with quality.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with software development, calibration, and validation partners to identify requirements, schedule, and deploy virtual test environment projects

  • Develop and maintain the agile team workplan for each increment

  • Conduct DSUs, Iteration reviews, increment reviews, and other necessary coordination, statusing, and tracking meetings

  • Lead engagement with multi-functional team members to coordinate on-time delivery of simulation components to meet requirements and timing

  • Develop and release CoSim environments by integrating plant models, vECU models, and other virtual assets

  • Create, maintain, and improve standard simulation architectures

  • Lead technical support for released simulations, including detailed documentation, and assist users with testing and troubleshooting

  • Lead initiatives to benchmark and adopt next-generation simulation technology and tools

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred Electrical, Computer Science, or Mechanical) or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 2+years of relevant engineering experience, with some experience focused on virtual simulation and testing

  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink in context of plant model development and integration and basic usage of additional simulation tools

  • Familiarity with embedded controls software and the automated software build processes, including gcc compiler, gdb debugger, Eclipse, and ETAS INCA measurement and calibration tools

  • Familiarity with automotive communication technologies such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and SPI

  • Familiarity in computer programming languages including C

  • Experience and comfortable with leading large and/or difficult projects with high levels of ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in engineering (E.g. Electrical, Computer Science, or Mechanical)

  • Experience with Agile development and Scrum Lead position role and responsibilities

  • Demonstrated leadership and success in Virtual Test Environment development & deployment

  • Experience with software integration verification and validation

  • Experience as a Controls, Software, or Calibration Engineer
