The industry is growing quickly at a time when the technology is changing rapidly which poses a number of challenges for JLR. The technology is changing at a faster rate compared to our normal maturation timelines. So, to manage this, we must look forward and identify the right technologies that we need to invest in and determine how we grow as a team to accommodate and deliver this.

 

The battery team is one of the fastest growing teams in the JLR business with main focus to respond to the increasing mix of BEV vehicles in our cycle plan. We are looking for Senior Simulation and Modelling Engineers to be based in the Battery Systems Advanced Concepts & Research Pillar, reporting to the Pillar Head. You will get the opportunity as the Senior Simulation and Modelling Engineer to be responsible for implementing Simulation and Modelling solutions to meet component functional targets.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Development the mechanical simulation aspect within JLR's BEV battery technology roadmap to support JLRs electrification transition.
  • Consolidate and create benchmark material from device to vehicle that maximises our understanding of our competitors and the current / latest technology landscape being deployed.
  • Work alongside our simulation, integration and engineering operations team to ensure we have the right mechanical simulation techniques in place to execute the technology roadmap.
  • Develop and cascade a technology roadmap that takes us to the next generation of battery technologies such as solid state and cell-to-pack / module-to-car concepts.

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

 

  • Experience of  mechanical simulation techniques.
  • Experience of and cell/ battery mechanical design and integration within a battery pack.
  • Experience of competitor simulation techniques within the battery manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to help build a winning team in the field of cell/ battery pack mechanical simulation future strategies and research.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Simulation techniques and battery landscape across the worldwide supply base or other OEM manufacturers to allow credible and competitive concepts and strategies to be followed.
