WHAT TO EXPECT

 

JLR currently have an exciting opportunity for Senior Scrum Master to join their Software Engineering Team based in Shannon, Ireland. Software engineering is fundamental to the future of the automotive industry and JLR have played a leading role in this area for many years. We’re on a journey to transform the digital future of our brands, designing and building state-of-the-art systems and products for one of the world’s leading luxury automotive brands in new and exciting ways. We have many vibrant software development centres including a prominent software development centre in Shannon. As a Senior Scrum Master, you will be part of an energetic high performing Agile organisation, who operate effectively within a complex and innovative stakeholder landscape.

 

Your primary responsibilities will include driving delivery and supporting the evolution of high performing and continuously improving team.  You will enable their self-organisation capabilities and work with PO’s and other key stakeholders to ensure attainable goals are set and delivered by your team. Experience working proactively with complex programs, diverse stakeholders and supplier management will be required in this role.

 

This is a great opportunity to be actively involved in mentoring and supporting other agilists across the business and a key player in Communities of Practice and other Agile influencing circles.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

In this role you will significantly influence your team’s direction, including:

 

  • Guiding teams on how to plan, roadmap and forecast work and creating visibility of work being completed through data driven evidence and dashboards and using teams’ performance as a way to measure realistic and sustainable delivery.
  • Timely resolution/escalation of impediments and risks that are slowing down performance.
  • Ensuring backlog items meet Definition of Ready and holding supplier and in-house team(s) accountable with creating high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done
  • Driving collaboration with 3rd party software suppliers and cross domain stakeholders
  • Close alignment with vehicle programs to have clear understanding of E2E delivery milestones, deadlines, releases, and test strategies.
  • Coaching the team through conflict and promoting team members to check and challenge one another.
  • Establishing Agile Frameworks within team and ensuring agile events such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand up, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective and Backlog refinement are conducted.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Significant Agile experience and & SDLC adeptness
  • Proficiency in facilitating / leading large-scale innovation / planning workshops
  • Experience of managing products & backlogs in tools such as Confluence & JIRA
  • Solid understanding of Software Development processes, continuous delivery and release management
  • Significant experience working with external suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Quality focus of delivered product – key advocate for “Definition-of-Ready” & “Definition-of-Done” at all levels.
