Position Description:
The Supplier Development Lead position (SDL) requires working on site at 4 or 5 Pratt & Whitney suppliers in the Oregon area to assist them on their journey to achieve platinum level performance. The suppliers in the area range from Casting and Forging houses to machining and even distributors. The SDL’s function would involve training and coaching for root cause analysis of quality and delivery misses, lean manufacturing, cell design, capacity assessment, equipment maintenance, EH&S issues, and shop cleanliness. The SDL also works to improve the relationship between Pratt & Whitney and the supplier by improving the communications, minimizing the number of outside visits, catalyst for additional business opportunities, reducing financial risks, and developing long term relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments of the suppliers capability to perform and sustain performance through the SHA (Supplier Health Assessment)
- Engage with the supplier to develop action plan (SCIP) to close the gaps between current state and gold level performance.
- Track SCIP and drive closure to reach gold level.
- Conduct training and coaching on-site at the supplier to develop their team.
- Coordinating with P&W technical team to improve the design for manufacturing.
- Coordinate with the PW purchasing team to stabilize production demands and find root causes and corrective actions for PW caused misses.
- Establish leading indicators of performance and track weekly, on-site at supplier
- Intervene as required to expedite deliveries and/or resolve quality issues
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Management or related field and 10 years of experience in Business, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related field; OR a master’s degree in a related field with 7 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work on-site at suppliers 80% of their time in Oregon and 20% of the time working from home office in Oregon.
- U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.
The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 236,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
