POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role is responsible for integrating all aspects of the digital/IT supply chain and sourcing functions into Enterprise Services (ES) Strategy and Transformation Initiatives through collaborating and partnering with suppliers, ES leaders, and functional service owners.  A key component of the role is to review, negotiate and execute Digital Technology software contracts from the ES work stream leaders and business units (BUs).  

The ideal candidate will draw from experience in software (SaaS, perpetual, and subscription)  platforms and assist with translating this knowledge via contract negotiations and project management skills to lead the coordination, communication and integration of suppliers to support the achievement of technical, financial and performance objectives. This candidate must have the business acumen to connect technical requirements and concerns to contract performance and should be able to proactively identify and resolve problems efficiently and effectively.  This candidate will have a deep understanding of enterprise application contracts with the ability to manage licensing, maintenance, and support requirements.  This individual will have a deep understanding of supplier products such as various strategies to drive year on year cost savings to help RTX meet its bottom line.  As this is a fast-paced environment, understanding of the Collaboration tools under various licensing models to facilitate execution is strongly desired.

Given the number of contracts, this individual must be able to effectively employ project management skills to contribute to an integrated master schedule of engagements and other activities.  The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Leads and drive contract negotiations for enterprise software

  • Ensure contracts include protections to RTX standards provided by Legal Contracts and Compliance (Data Privacy/Global Trade/Cyber Security)

  • Effectively, track and manage new project requests from initiation through contract execution

  • Advise stakeholders of contractual rights and obligations; mitigating contractual risk

  • Analyze and negotiate enterprise software pricing

  • Provide support to Request for Proposal (RFP) assessments, proposal generation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and ensure that business deals comply with company policies

  • Build strong partnerships across various stakeholders (legal, finance, etc.)

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of Sourcing, Contract/Subcontract Category Management, with at least 5 years in Digital IT Preferred

  • Contractual acumen with proficiency in contracts fundamentals

  • Experience administering contracts and/or proposals

  • Strong negotiations and sourcing skills with understanding of legalese for varied contract types (End User License Agreements, SaaS, Shrink-Wrap, IT Professional Services or combinations of each)

  • Ability to effectively communicate, execute and manage contracts that meet technical, cost, and schedule goals

  • Experience with sourcing roles and functions, including & metrics management

  • Must possess strong collaboration skills enabling effective communication and demonstrated business results working internally with functional service owners in Enterprise Services and across business units, as well as externally with suppliers

  • Proven record of responsiveness with excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated ability to understand financial information, budgets and program performance and develop strategies and business cases to improve performance in these areas

  • Strong knowledge of digital applications and the suppliers in that space

  • Must possess strong working skillset with Microsoft Suite of Product including Excel, Word and Teams

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage several projects simultaneously. 

  • Candidate must be results-oriented, self-motivated with strong team and facilitation skills

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team

  • Ability to develop effective presentations and documents used for leadership reviews

  • Understanding of the end-to-end procurement process, from contract negotiations to requisition and PO placement

  • J.D. degree

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
